I hope you’re recovered from gorging on turkey and stuffing, and are well fortified for the rest of 2017! Here’s what you need to know about Troop 271 in December:
90-Day Review. We’ve been under new leadership for about three months now. How is it going? We welcome your compliments, suggestions, and constructive criticism.
Youth Leadership. Encourage your son to talk to Mr. Dedenbach about any leadership position he might be interested in. Remember that leadership is required for advancement after First Class.
Chicago City Hike. Sign up now (through the Weekly Newsletter) for this awesome Troop 271 tradition. We will need drivers to get the boys to the train station in Michigan City, IN, and a few more adults to chaperone. Train tickets are $8 (round trip); bring extra money for good pizza and Christmas shopping!
New Service Opportunity. We have been invited to sing Christmas Carols with Pack 3217 for the Sisters at Aquinata Hall on December 3, starting at 2:00. See Mary Ann’s email for more details.
IHN Service Projects. Come help us set up/clean up for people who need a warm place to sleep in December. See Mary Ann’s emails for more details.
Court of Honor. The next Court of Honor will be held on Thursday, January 25. Christmas Break might be a good time to finish up those last requirements for merit badges and rank advancement.
Calendar. Don’t forget that you can view a calendar of events on the new troop website!
I think that’s all for now… thanks for reading!
