WELCOME

We are an adventurous troop of active, boy-led leaders-in-training, with regular campouts and service projects throughout the year from September to July.

We meet on the 2nd-4th Thursdays evenings of each month from 7:00–8:30pm
at Mayflower Congregational Church
2345 Robinson Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI

SERVE.

It’s more than just an idea. In Troop 271, we serve in many ways, from clearing trails through local woods to serving pancakes at community breakfasts to setting up bedrooms for Family Promise. During our monthly service projects and our many Eagle projects, our boys have a chance to learn first-hand how much they can contribute to the community.

GROW.

Remember the first time you put a squirmy, slimy worm on a fishhook? On our monthly outings, our scouts are challenged to try new things and to stretch beyond their comfort zones. Our patrol challenges and merit badges teach resourcefulness and teamwork. And through it all, the boys have a ton of fun.

LEAD.

Once the boys have had some time to serve and grow, they have the opportunity to lead. We provide our scouts with age-appropriate spaces to fail, learn, try again, and succeed as they mature into young men of character—the leaders of tomorrow.
