 Summer Camp 2018
Geocaching at a winter campout

welcome to troop 271!

We’re glad you found us online. If you’re interested in learning more about us or in joining our Troop, here are some suggestions for getting started:

Visit a meeting. The best way to find out if we’re a good fit for you is to meet us in person. You are welcome to join us on Thursday nights at 7:00 at Mayflower Church. (It’s a good idea to let the Scoutmaster or Committee Chair know you’re planning to come, so we can give you a heads up if we happen to be meeting somewhere else.)

Ask questions. Anyone who is listed on our Adult Leadership page will be more than happy to help you out.

Fill out an application for membership. When attending a meeting, you can fill out an application online by finding our troop through  beascout.scouting.com.

Read through our New Scout and Parent Handbook. This fascinating document contains (almost) everything you need to know about Troop 271.

Get involved! Once you’ve had a chance to get your feet wet, find something that looks like fun and volunteer to do it. Your Scoutmaster or Committee Chair can also provide you with suggestions if you’re not sure where you fit in. The more you put into Scouts, the more you’ll get out of it!
